Old to enough to remember these images (before AI). Many, many thousands of kids ended up in iron lungs because of polio induced paralysis. Changed overnight with vaccine. RFK jr should remember this as well. images.app.goo.gl/L73cYjfg2oG7Fz…

is BMI the right way to assess obesity? Article suggests docs trade in BMI for waist circumference. Accurate measurement of BMI is hard, maybe this is why in the illustration it is being done incorrectly??? Conclusions of the commission are mostly gibberish!🙄 Ted Kyle

Annual physical today. Internist very thoughtful guy. Recommended against RSV, thinks signal for Guillian-Barre is higher than reported. Recommended against Covid - seen many worsening local reactions & new onset A-Fib post vax, may be emerging as consequential complication.

Note to those aghast at NIH funding "transgender" mice. Rep. Nancy Mace doesn't know the difference between transgenic and transgender. She is misinterpreting transGENIC mice where mouse genes are manipulated to study human diseases like cancer and diabetes.

The MOTTO of the typical NIH funded investigators at hospital s: You Eat What You Kill. In other words go forth and scramble for every dollar you can find; the department is bleeding clinical revenue and we have no money for you dear.

Started working on FGF21 and the liver in 2005 when there were 3 papers in the world's literature. Then briefly at Novartis. Looks like it has a chance as a therapeutic. firstwordpharma.com/story/5960694

Tired of hearing about the evils of ultra processed food. Almost any food with extended life "ultra processed." Includes English muffins. Fruit yogurts. Plain Cheerios. Meanwhile French Baguette not ultra processed but turns into baseball bat in one day.

As insurers/pharma benefits managers are abandoning incretin therapy for my patients I wrote my first direct to consumer Rx today for tirzepatide. Eli Lilly and Company made it easy. Epic, not so much. Hope it goes through.

I heard from a colleague in Texas that David Mangelsdorf died after a brief illness. He was an amazing investigator working on transcriptional regulation. We interacted and sometimes disagreed about FGF21 - but that's science. He was only 66. hhmi.org/scientists/dav…

These are Kefalonian Mandoles. They cannot be shipped to US - small commercial shipments are in limbo because of tariffs! Loss to confectionary that makes them and to me who intended them in holiday baskets. This is how crazy we have become share.google/images/hdmOSdd…
