This morning, I opened a Holy Door at the Roman prison of Rebibbia, following the one at St. Peter's. It was, we could say, "the cathedral of pain and hope."

I think of the many people who find various ways to be close to the sick, becoming a sign of the Lord’s presence for them. We need this “miracle of tenderness” to accompany those who face adversity, in order to bring a little light into the night of pain.

Our bodies are weak but, even like this, nothing can prevent us from loving, praying, giving ourselves, being for each other, in faith, shining signs of hope.

You have continued to pray for me with so much patience and perseverance: thank you so much! I also pray for you. Let us #PrayTogether for #Peace, especially in martyred Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
