Jacob Frey after ICE murdered a woman in Minnesota today: “I have a message for ICE — get the fuck out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here. People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. And now somebody is dead. That’s on you. It’s also on you to leave.”

call me a lib but maybe we shouldn’t have roaming gangs of masked men arresting people without charges and shooting innocent people in the face

What American citizens should understand: Kristi Noem’s secret police can kill you— then lie and call you a terrorist. That’s what they're doing now.

Show me. Show me WHERE the officer saw any reasonable threat before drawing his gun. Show me WHERE they were “trapped” as he circled HER car, and she engaged calmly and politely. Show me WHERE he was scared as he angrily called her a fucking bitch.

Something nobody talks about wrt “vibe coding”: the LLM explains to you what it’s planning to do and/or what it has done. I’ve developed software for over two decades and I don’t think I’ve ever learned new concepts at this velocity since my comp sci undergrad.

Trying to kill the Fed’s independence by criminal investigation is not good for that institution, and maybe even worse for the Justice Department. Feels like an attempt at murder-suicide….

Apple’s unified memory architecture and RDMA means that the Xserve is likely to return as a very competitive LLM offering.

My job as a software engineer has utterly changed in the last 3 months, after being pretty much the same for ~25 years before that. I’ve never experienced anything like this …

Unboxed all my gear and got it running on actual hardware! Clearly some bugs (menu looks messed up, night mode is supposed to have lightning) but more stuff working than not working. 👍

After some debugging, Claude fixed all the bugs: - the rom files had to be padded to the full chip size - the menu panel code was wildly inefficient, writing every single sprite control block on every frame even when the panel wasn’t animating

LLMs are so good at low level programming that I wonder if we’ll see an emergence of embedded computing for consumer use. Operating systems are too bloated for 99% of tasks, have the LLM build your product on bare metal, you’re going to market with a fraction of hw requirements.

programming always sucked. it was a requisite pain for ~everyone who wanted to manipulate computers into doing useful things and im glad it’s over. it’s amazing how quickly I’ve moved on and don’t miss even slightly. im resentful that computers didn’t always work this way
