In amongst the disappointment, a word for Jos Buttler. To be able to perform at a high level, whilst dealing with the grief of losing a parent is quite something. Lots of nonsense is spoken on this platform, but Jos deserves nothing but the support and respect of any cricket fan.

It looks like the Superchargers are the team to beat in the women’s comp. Strong domestic batters and bowlers and in Litchfield and Sutherland two game winning overseas stars. Not ideal we have to play them twice, but if you want to win a tournament you have to beat the best.

I have been fortunate enough to enjoy fantastic days out at the cricket with my daughter over the last five years. The timing of The Hundred was perfect for us, as she has grown up alongside it. The double headers, the in ground experience, the quality of the cricket. Amazing!

A mention for Sonny Baker. In amongst all the excitement and with the wickets at the end of set, start of set we missed that this had even happened! It is just the latest impressive contribution from a young man who has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Fantastic work!
