I've not seen a single media outlet in the UK, Europe, or US report on the killing of this little girl by the Israeli military. Not a single political leader has spoken of this incident. No emotive interviews have been done with her family. No condemnations have been issued.

Last year, today, the Israeli army killed Hind Rajab, a 5-year-old girl from Gaza, along with her family by firing 300+ bullets at them. An Israeli army tank killed the PCRS teams that came to her rescue, killing the paramedics Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed Al Madhoun.

just stumbled on a real jaw-dropper of a line in an essay -- “The corollary of being interested in a great range of things is to have sympathy with a great range of outlooks” -- and that, my friends, is why reading is so important.

LIVE FROM THE HAGUE: “When future generations enquire about our contribution to Palestine’s right to self determination, our response must be: we took concrete measures.” “Or, we will be remembered as leaders who watched and did nothing.” —Namibia’s Minister of Justice 🇳🇦🇵🇸

Today, I’m thinking of Dr. Amira Alasooli running to rescue an injured Palestinian man under the fire of israeli snipers. These are the women we celebrate today and every day. These are our heroes and role models. Happy International Women’s Day.

Student debt was created to instill discipline in students, when you graduate from college with >$100,000k in debt, it may take a lifetime to pay off, you have no choice but to enter the capitalist machine, all that stuff about hope or changing the world disappears really quick.

I fucking HATE these AI adverts. I loved reading 1000 pages a week as a PhD student. It taught me how to see patterns in the knowledge, and to gauge the plausibility of arguments. Reading is a skill. AI is about deskilling.

It's not just this. Most of his movies talk about the damage humans have done to the earth. Using AI even after knowing the environmental impact of it to make soulless versions of his style is just disgusting imo.

Truth is, if you want society to be better for your child, you have to make society better for every child. Just focusing on yours alone won’t do them any good. It certainly won’t give them the type of society you want. All children are our children.

After nearly 18 months of war, nearly one million children in Gaza have been repeatedly displaced and deprived of their right to basic services. The world must not stand by and allow the killing and suffering of children in Gaza to continue.

More than a month has passed without a drop of aid into Gaza. As aid has dried up, the floodgates of horror have re-opened. It’s time to end the dehumanization, protect civilians, release the hostages, ensure lifesaving aid & renew the ceasefire.

Five Keralites in the top hundred of this year’s civil service examinations — and all five women! Congratulations to all of them and to those others who made it through other ranks — and best wishes in serving the nation in the years to come!

Microplastics exist in the air we breathe. A group of UTHealth Houston students scaled Pico de Orizaba, an almost 18,500-foot volcano in Mexico, to collect water, snow, and saliva samples to determine how high this health threat reaches. #EarthDay thinkglobalhealth.org/article/microp…

Yesterday, at Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza, a girl-child came into this world, and the world rejected her. She had no brain. Not in the poetic sense of innocence or purity, but anatomically, literally: anencephaly. No cerebrum. No future thought, no dreams, no memory to be
