We really should stop circumcising babies

People get irrationally angry when you state that circumcision is male genital mutilation. My assumption is that they themselves were or had their children circumcised, and they can’t handle the anger or guilt that follows.

One of the worst things we normalized is circumcising children based on the sexual preferences of adult women.

No form of genital cutting is acceptable no matter how extreme or normalized the cutting is. All children have bodily integrity & deserve to grow up free from cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment. A victim’s immutable characteristics do not change this.

I don’t remember telling anyone they could circumcise me.. I wonder if I can sue my parents for the wrong they have done to me

I grew up in a strongly anti #abortion home. But it was through male #circumcision & my own forced surgeries as a child that I became devotedly #prochoice. End the abortion debate by teaching boys the value of bodily autonomy, & then by actually giving it to them! #i2 #intersex

A boys first lesson on his body is that society at large is allowed to take parts of it away, its no surprise so many #men grow up to be #antiabortion. Bodily #Autonomy is a fundament right, & is innately understood, but not when you physically teach it out of kids. #prochoice

I will be taking break from twitter. I am adamantly Pro-Choice, but it is exhausting being attacked & belittled by women angry at the leaked ruling because I am a man. Body Autonomy is a human right, everyone has, but needs to be protected so everyone can exercise it.

"What you don't experience". Yes, I will never experience my full genitals as I was mutilated as an infant. I will never experience a full sexual encounter. My senses will always be dulled and calloused. Trauma has many faces, some not seen until much later in life.
