Joey is a 3-year-old CCSD93 ECC student, and he’s battling an extraordinarily rare and aggressive form of cancer. The ECC partnered with local apparel vendor CP Creative and the Bloomingdale Bears to sell #JoeyStrong shirts, raising $5,240 to be donated to Joey’s family.

Today ECC students showed their support by wearing the tee shirts for the first time to school, holding brief #JoeyStrong rallies and creating get well soon cards for him.

This afternoon, the funds were donated to Joey & his family at their home, immediately followed by a vehicle parade of ECC families & other supporters within the community, including emergency vehicles from the Bloomingdale police & fire departments. Today, we’re all #JoeyStrong!
