When I look back on youthful days I see them as simpler times. But I’m looking things knowing how they will turn out. All the angst and worry are gone. I can smile at how silly I was to stress. Today will someday be a “simpler time.” Why worry how it will turn out? #SlamWords

Marathon days were spent in Hot station wagons for the family vacation. Just before supper, my father would back in, the day never done until the frustrating trailer was unhitched. We had to remain in the car until it was done. We learned to duck and cover. #SlamWords

I refuse to keep holding on to yesterday. But the shadows are there Becoming invasive until it’s infused in the very breaths I take. I won’t stop breathing so I answer the past with a sigh. #SlamWords

All we want is a better tomorrow. Instead, we get unending wars, unnecessary fiscal crises, and unjustified hate. I’m tired of asking this but why should we have to wait? #SlamWords

“Never lose hope,” they tell the patients instead of saying, “Have a nice day.” I look at them with eyes that have lost their hope. No one wants to talk about that. I offer my perfunctory thanks. We can all move forward with our smiles pasted on. #SlamWords

No matter how game begins there are those who’ll fade away but for those who persevere and play they know that in the end, love wins. #SlamWords

The prompts they are forever changing But still we come together and keep holding on. Thank you, (Quiet) Storm ☽✪☾ and @Carolinagrl7 For engaging. We don’t have to worry about growing up. We’ll be back another day to play. Our love for it always wins. #SlamWords

We didn't have a lot growing up. On holidays, my mom would get olives. My dad and I would hog most of the bowl. Having olives meant we were rich. Now, I include them in all special occasions. May your blessings, no matter how humble, make you feel as richly loved as I was.

Someday, I thought I would go to Punxsutawney just to see the ground hog do his thing. Or to Cawker City to see the biggest ball of string. I find them on the internet from the comfort of my chair Does it truly matter if we’re not all there?

He should be here, propped against the fence post we never got around to replacing. The termites loved it even though we did not. His grin would be radiant. Instead, only a splinter remained. The rest was buried deep in both our hearts. #SenseWrds

Don’t envy the partygoers who laugh and claim they’ll call you. Solitude is steadfast and trustworthy with only you to tell its lies. #BraveWrite

I know why a mother might show up at her child’s murder trial. No matter what they did, she can still smell their baby-sweet head as they slept on her shoulder. Love, for all its joys and its pain in the end, it’s all that remains. #BornBattleReady

I keep my political views off social media except for my likes. This isn't political. Yesterday's press conference inspired me. There are few visionaries. I believe Alvin Bragg is one of them and we can learn from him. What I learned from Alvin Bragg link.medium.com/CeYguoGH3Jb

I don't know what- Time, it clouded over Any hope of knowing What happened. So, I lied. I said I did. And that truth was like A cloud hanging On a winter day. It chilled and congealed. No matter how hard I worked to conceal The secrets told in snow. #FromOneLine
