Last year I said I was gonna watch all the Japanese Godzilla films. I got distracted by watching a load of Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai & other Tokusatsu stuff but eventually I finished the Shōwa era stuff. Now onto the Heisei era, starting with a banger, Godzilla 1984!

Got this because I heard good things and it stars Peter Falk. It did not disappoint! 4K restoration by Criterion, well worth it if you see it.

Got this cos I thought it was a zombie film. It is and it isn’t. It’s a movie about making cheap movies. It starts with a 37 minute no cuts zombie film about a crew making a zombie film until real zombies show up, then the real film begins showing how that film was made. 10/10

Finally!!! I swear Nickel Boys would have got the recognition it deserved if this was implemented earlier!!

Been watching some good films recently and the trend has not ended with my trip to the cinema tonight.

Saw Warfare at the cinema. Does what it says on the tin I guess.

Just a reminder that today’s your last chance to watch the Kimmy Schmidt & Black Mirror Bandersnatch interactive episodes on Netflix before they remove it permanently tomorrow and turn them both into lost media’s.

2 credit scenes and about two hours of a cutscene later and I’m sat here with (hopefully) the final credits rolling with Chvrches playing and I’ve come to the conclusion that I fucking loved every second of the 110 hours I’ve pumped into this game. 10/10.

Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes is up there as far as time loop films go! The way it’s shot really made me believe it was one entire continuous 70 min take, which says a lot to say it was a shoestring budget film shot on a drone camera. Genuinely charming and inspiring.

Just finished 28 Years Later. Very much enjoyed, beat the expectations tbh.

So I watched The Wages of Fear (Le Salaire de la peur). Being a product of its time left me at first not knowing if I was meant to hate everyone at the start… and I’m not 100% but I think I was meant to, just maybe not for all the racism and sexism. But it was really good!!
