I believe every worker deserves the right to join a union and collectively bargain, and that includes congressional staff.   We need to pass  the #PROAct because our Nation and our economy are better off when workers have a voice.

The final paragraph of the three liberals' Dobbs dissent: "With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent. "

My office stands in solidarity with UNITE HERE Local 23 and the Senate Cafeteria Workers who are fighting for fair wages and contracts. Instead, we ordered food for a #solidaritypizzaparty.

My office adds closed captions and alt text to our social media because we know that inclusivity and accessibility bring folks closer to, not further from, the governing process. Accessibility is never a hinderance nor burden—it makes our democracy stronger, actually.

BREAKING: In a rare bipartisan win, the Senate just voted to include the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act in the omnibus spending package. The amendment passed 73 to 24. This has been a years-long fight to guarantee basic accommodations for pregnant workers. It's a very big deal.

Today we are celebrating a new furniture safety law, the STURDY Act, which will help #stoptipovers by ensuring that dressers are tested and built to be safer and more stable before going to market.

The #STURDYAct, which passed in December, will make safety a requirement for furniture manufacturers. It was great to meet with the advocates who fought so hard for this bill, including so many parents who lost children to furniture tip-over accidents.

There are too many stories of kids being injured or even killed by fallen dressers, TVs and other furniture. I'm proud that my bipartisan STURDY Act is now law to help ensure furniture meets safety standards and children aren't being put at risk in their own homes.
