We're very excited to have Carlos Perez Carmona join the 'tree of professors' at the Department of Botany of University of Tartu as he was elected as a full professor of functional ecology! macroecology.ut.ee/en/professor-o…

Last days at #ICOM12 representing Macroecology UT (With such a fantastic program and speakers, I feel like a kid in Disneyland)

Read the latest #LandscapeEcology paper “Plants, fungi, and carabid beetles in temperate forests…” by Kersti Riibak Norbertas Noreika Aveliina Helm Maarja Öpik Maarja Öpik Liis Kasari-Toussaint Madli Jõks Bruno Paganeli, et al. 👑link.springer.com/article/10.100…👑 #SNLAND #SpringerOpen #openaccess

Congratulations to our workgroup member Slendy Rodríguez-Alarcón, PhD who recently received her PhD degree! Thank you to Mar Sobral who helped to lead the interesting defence and to Slendy's supervisors Carlos Perez Carmona & Riin Tamme macroecology.ut.ee/en/slendy-rece…

Our workgroup had a successful start to the #IAVS2024 in Madeira - with a talk about trait imputations from Enrico Tordoni and a poster about drought effects on trait variability by Slendy Rodríguez-Alarcón, PhD on Monday 🌿🪴

On the second day of #IAVS2024 our workgroup covered the #darkdiversity topic in a #DarkDivNet special session - with talks from Meelis Pärtel, Riin Tamme, Juni Fujinuma & Carlos Perez Carmona, and in a poster about alien plants by Bruno Paganeli.

Our workgroup has a presentation on every conference day of #IAVS2024! Today Diego Trindade talked about linking taxonomic and functional diversity to community stability.

So fresh that I had to hang it! Our paper exploring the relationship between past natural habitats and AM fungal diversity is now out 🌱📈🌐🍄 Macroecology UT and @.allcoauthors Check more in: sciencedirect.com/science/articl… (Si lo dejo secando se hara cecina? )

Check @EleonoraBeccari latest work in Nature Communications We explored how adding root size traits shapes the big picture of plant strategies. Spoiler: aboveground & belowground sizes form a single allometric spectrum independent of leaf and root economics. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Last week our workgroup member Bruno Paganeli received his PhD degree! Thank you to Javier Loidi who was the opponent of the PhD defence, and congratulations to Bruno and his supervisor Meelis Pärtel! macroecology.ut.ee/en/bruno-recei…

Our workgroup members Juni Fujinuma and Blanca Luz Caleño Ruíz are back from a successful expedition to Ghana where they sampled plant above- and below-ground traits for #TraitDivNet macroecology.ut.ee/en/traitdivnet…

We're very proud of our workgroup member Eleonora Beccari who received her PhD degree last week! Thank you to the opponent Holger Kreft who helped to lead an interesting discussion, and to Eleonora's supervisor Carlos Perez Carmona macroecology.ut.ee/en/eleonora-re…
