Danceathon! #RedNoseDay2024 Macaulay Primary
We’ve had such a busy couple of weeks! Last week, we had a performance for our RE lesson on ‘The Good Samaritan’ story. The children really enjoyed it and were able to show an understanding of kindness. Macaulay Primary #remacaulay
In art, we had a go at moulding some clay. We practised rolling, squeezing, pinching, squashing to see how we wanted to create our own clay sculptures next week. We then planned our own designs! Watch out for our sculptures next week! Macaulay Primary #artmacaulay
In maths, we’ve been looking at making equal groups by grouping and sharing! We enjoyed doing this practically using cubes and hoops and also with each other. We could identify if groups were equal or not equal. Macaulay Primary #mathsmacaulay
We’ve enjoyed a phonics morning with our grown ups! We took part in lots of activities and showed them how good we were at segmenting and blending words! Macaulay Primary #phonicsmacaulay
We also enjoyed taking part in the ‘Careers’ afternoon where we had the chance to explore lots of different jobs. We enjoyed talking to all of the people that came in to talk us about their job. Macaulay Primary
We’ve had a great afternoon creating our Australian sunsets! We showed how to layer soft pastels to create a lovely sunset colour. We used red and yellow and then layered them to create orange. Macaulay Primary #artmacaulay
We traced an outline of some objects that we might find on the beach ready to create a silhouette! Macaulay Primary #artmacaulay
Finally, we used a black soft pastel to create the objects into silhouettes! Macaulay Primary #artmacaulay
Wow! What an end to the first week back! We had great fun building dens and making bird feeders to earn our first delta star! We also took part in some mindfulness colouring and some painting! Macaulay Primary #deltastars
Wow! What a start back after the Christmas holidays! Today, we have been labelling our body parts! #macaulayscience Macaulay Primary
In science this week, we have been learning about our bodies and our 5 senses. We had to use our senses to smell, taste, touch, see and hear different things. It was great fun! Macaulay Primary #sciencemacaulay
In jigsaw, we were learning how to achieve a goal. We had to follow the correct steps to make a jam sandwich. We understood that to achieve goals, sometimes we need to take steps to get there. Macaulay Primary #jigsawmacaulay
Our half term hero! Well done Oliver! He has now achieved his unique characteristics delta stars card! Macaulay Primary #deltastars
We had lots of fun this afternoon using our 5 senses! We tasted different fruits and vegetables and decided if they were sweet or sour! We used our sense of touch to describe how the different foods felt. We had a great time! Macaulay Primary #dtmacaulay
We had lots of fun finding hot and cold countries! We found the equator and then decided together if the country was hot or cold! Countries closer to the equator are hotter than those further away! Macaulay Primary #geography
