Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov has published completion numbers for Help to Buy scheme in England, for Q4 2019/20, which annually saw stabilisation of growth, 2% down on 2018/19. There were 51,357 to March 2020 compared to 52,444 previous year. Cumulative completions stand close to 273,000 Mortgage Advice Bureau

Government has spent over £16bn on the Help to Buy scheme in England, the assets of a top 8 building society. In Q4 to March the average purchase price rose 5% to £314,930. FTB’s represent 82% of users, and in final quarter of 2019/20 had an average income of £58,698 Mortgage Advice Bureau

The relationship at any one time between a Buyer and a Vendors Agent is always predicated on the strength/weakness of the housing market, but this present time advice to Buyers says first ‘sell yourselves’ to the Agent before contemplating an actual purchase. Very sound advice.
