My writing is born from nightmares, dreams, and feelings. Storytelling is timeless. Storytelling is heavy, yet weightless—a world full of yes, no, right, wrong, high, low. A good story is as magical as it gets, because it becomes a journey. #WritingCommunity

It breaks my heart a little every time I read a breakout debut, then the second book is... fine, and the third is actually bad. How did this happen? Did the publisher just assume we’d stay loyal? Was everyone too eager to cash in to say anything? That’s why I’d rather build slow

Don’t give into the peer pressure y’all. Having two doodles is A LOT. Also, I just finished the first part of my new project. 😁 #WritingCommunity #indieauthor #amwriting

It’s wild how some people still think self-published authors aren’t “real authors.” Dude, some of the best stories I’ve ever read came from indie books, self-pubbed works, or forum posts. If you wrote it, you’re an author. Don’t like it? Go sip soup through a window screen.

Please don't say you're an avid reader and follow authors only to slip into their dm's about marketing techniques. We don't want them.

This is my fifth year in the query trenches. I’ve queried 3 novels in that time. I’ve had requests, I’ve had hundreds of rejections, I’ve had agents who gave me feedback which kept me going. Mostly, I’ve had a community around me. I haven’t given up. I won’t give up. #amquerying

I wrote a deranged prayer from the POV of a murderer near the end of one of my books. I’m only afraid of one thing now: my super-religious mother-in-law finding it. It’s only a matter of time. #indieauthor #WritingCommunity

I’ll never forget how I became oddly paranoid about using the em dash back in 2023—thanks to its supposed association with AI. But that’s behind me. I’ve used it freely here on X this year—a small sign of what’s to come. I scrubbed my first book clean of em dashes, avoiding

Sometimes I forget about how scary Chicago can be underground. The rusty stone subway walls. The never-ending stretch of silence that watches you from afar—always a step ahead—always waiting, whispering promises of the unknown. Or maybe it’s just an old subway stop. Idk.

“Black vines burned and curled around her forearm, pulsing blue like a heartbeat. Every second was a new memory flowing in, slamming her mind with a special kind of pain—plaguing her heart with a new kind of ache. Thin, elegant laurels left in the burning’s wake.”

It’s insane how you can spend your whole childhood just wanting grown-up conversations—then you f-around-and-find-out that someone in the family was a monster, your “heroes” did some terrible things behind closed doors, and that it’s all on you to break the generational curses.

It really sucks that I had to take a break on writing to study for my major field assessments, but now that they’re done, I can keep preparing for my project’s launch. Yay! #WritingCommunity

I've been using Scrivener for a few days and I have thoughts! I love the split screen, the personalization settings, moving chapters like sticky notes?? That feature has my heart. The layout is perfect to see your book's plot more clearly and where it's working or sagging

I was on the US Copyright Office website. I finished all of the application, but as soon as I hit submit, the website crashed because it was under regularly scheduled maintenance. Fun. lol
