No job is more important than your mental and physical health. If you have had a break in your life to heal, no one should force you to explain it.

Trying and learning new things broadens your horizons, but doesn't always change your mindset. Nevertheless, I think it's worth doing, because sometimes a strong game-changer happens. For me it was e.g. discovering a new memory management approach, used in Rust language.
