This is, I'm afraid, simply impossible. The whole thing is so liberal boomer-coded. They're the only ones who have time to waste on this sort of thing! And everyone else who attempted to contribute at all to the "synodal process" has been carefully filtered out at every stage.

Someone is being *very* selective here with the Pope's homily, since (contra Mr Palmo's tweet) Leo also asked for "a Church that does not judge as the Pharisee does the tax collector, but becomes a welcoming place for all..."

Here’s a take that will lose me followers. Catholic liberals did not, in fact, get what they wanted from Francis: no married priests, no women deacons and a provision for gay blessings so catastrophically mishandled that Francis basically nuked it. (That isn’t to say that

Interesting document which indulges in nostalgia for the 60's, whilst lamenting the state of Catholic education today, and the fragmented and digitalised environment that the prophetic Second Vatican Council did not foresee.

📰 Joseph Shaw in The Telegraph discusses Summorum Pontificum and the growing youth devotion to the Old Rite "Pope Leo seems to be signalling yet another reversal of policy. If he follows through he will be putting wind in the sails of some of the Church’s most vital elements" 👇

Some reflections on Rome & the TLM pilgrimage. As well as Mass in St Peter’s, we had a lovely Vespers with Carindal Zuppi, & of course the pilgrims went to various Masses on Sunday. There was also the Pax Liturgica conference on Friday, and Fœderatio Internationalis Una Voce General Assembly. 1/

This is an excellent (ongoing) series: meticulously researched, full of unpublished and little-known primary sources, very informative, well worth the time to sit down and read!

Using newly-made vestments in the traditional liturgy is "incoherent", apparently. Galaxy-brained stuff, brought to you by the Professor of Liturgical Studies at the University of Bonn (Germany), who on the basis of this seems to think all liturgy is just LARPing. 🤦

Actually, Fr Danford, contrary to your letter in this week's Tablet, quite a few of us much prefer the new translation of the Novus Ordo lectionary!

I think there's a bit of a synodal Catch-22. It was advertised for so long as a way to unleash ecclesiastical paradise, yet people are naturally skeptical of theories of everything. So it was viewed as snake oil. But now by making it incredibly normal, nobody will care.
