Got a bit creative with my flash talk this afternoon, it was a nice soft launch into presenting my PhD research 🌋 #DublinVolcanoDay On The Rocks School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin We are now Research Ireland

Great day discussing the amazing and diverse volcano science taking place in Dublin yesterday! Claire Harnett and I were very happy to bring together researchers from On The Rocks, UCD Earth Sciences and DIAS for the first #DublinVolcanoDay! iCRAG Centre

Check out our new paper on seafloor anoxia at the end-Triassic mass extinction. Congratulations Anna Somlyay! Csővár for the win! sciencedirect.com/science/articl… #geology #uranium #endTriassic #massextinction #carbonates

So good to be back in #Galapagos with an amazing international team from School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin Cambridge Earth Sciences and Instituto Geofísico looking at the generation of ocean island rhyolites! Huge thanks to Charles Darwin Foundation-Fundación Charles Darwin for essential support! 🌋Christ's College

Very please and proud of Eshbal Geifman and Lydia Whittaker’s contribution to Culture Night Dublin yesterday! Working with colleagues DIAS to share amazing research into Irelands fiery past from #Critical_Ireland and the new Dublin Magmatism Group group!🌋 School of Natural Sciences, Trinity College Dublin Geological Survey IE @scienceirel

Fiery Forces of Ireland was a huge hit last night at Culture Night Dublin with over 250 visitors! We had such a blast - volcanoes and earthquakes everywhere!! 🌋🖤 #DIASDiscovers #TCDGeology #CultureNightDublin iCRAG Centre DIAS Geophysics On The Rocks Trinity College Dublin Dublin City Council

I'm Lydia (Lydia Whittaker) I started my PhD with Michael Stock in 2022 funded by We are now Research Ireland. My research investigates changes in the architecture and dynamics of magmatic plumbing systems in the Galápagos through novel geochemical analysis and advanced modelling techniques.

Happy Friday! I’m Remy and I provide Dublin Magmatism Group with moral support during their research. My volcano knowledge is admittedly quite limited, but I try my best to help out with fieldwork around Ireland!

Second year PhD student Lydia Whittaker went to the combined IRC We are now Research Ireland and SFI @scienceirel #Summit23 this week to present a poster on her first years research on the Galapagos Archipelago
