We often wonder whether the Ravens nesting in North Haven are the same individuals from year to year. Now we'll know whether one of them is.

Full wildfowl survey through the Herts/Middx Colne Valley gravel pits today. Birds on the move, with significant totals of 334 Shoveler and 200 Pochard. Also drake Smew, 11 Goldeneye, Goosander. Large Bittercress close to flowering at Stocker’s Lake.

📢 We've got some BIG NEWS... this spring, a pair of Crane have hatched a chick out on the Fen! The family are secretive and unlikely to be seen on your next visit, but this is the first known record of breeding Crane in the Yare Valley. Wow! 🥳 📷: Richard Harrowven

Woohoo 🎉 Following the successful reintroduction of fen raft spiders to RSPB Cantley Marsh back in 2012, we have closely monitoring their natural spread. Yesterday a fen raft spider was photographed from the bridge on the meadow trail at Strumpshaw Fen. 🕷️ 📷 Ben Lewis

We're thrilled that Long-eared Owl have successfully fledged chicks in the mid-Yare Valley this spring! This youngster has been hanging around our reception complex for the last couple of days. If you come across it, please be respectful and give it plenty of space. Thank you! 🙏
