Thanks to the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI), I have 8 year-old students that want to professionally code. They have been introduced to programming activities that challenge them to be creative yet diligent, increasing their ability to navigate tech.

This year, I want to exude more confidence presenting science lessons in the classroom. I am eager to attend a few of the hands-on workshops AMSTI is hosting this summer, like: Matter, Plants & Bugs, or Soils & Shores!

If I want to use a media/tech. resource in the classroom, I first will ask: Can I find student words explaining how the tool aided the learning process? Does the tool offer guiding questions/examples to help challenge the student? Can students set, track, and accomplish goals?

I highly advocate for the tech. resource Education Galaxy. It allowed my students to strengthen curriculum-focused skills by answering test-format questions, viewing instructional videos when incorrect, and being rewarded with a mini game when correct. It was a huge success!
