A national scandal is quietly unfolding in the NHS. 1000s of doctors are being blocked from becoming Consultants & GPs because the Government is restricting training spots. The public aren’t being told. Unemployed doctors while waiting lists soar is nothing short of madness.

A review of the evidence shows that the strongest evidence for the safe and effective practice of PAs comes from studies in which they are working under direct supervision of a doctor and in a defined scope of practice.

Saying pay is not on the table in a pay dispute is not negotiating. Fixing the training job crisis is your job, it’s embarrassing that a dispute even had to be opened. Just increase doctors’ pay to the point where a new doctor is only paid a little less than an assistant role 🙏🏻

I graduated a long time before this doctor. It took me well over a decade to pay off my loans, which was largely funded by working ~48hrs/week for that time. I spent very little of it working 40hr weeks, and none of it LTFT. This was before the £9k fees. It is now insurmountable
