Out now in The ISME Journal. Our discovery of a completely novel group of copper membrane monooxygenases (CuMMOs) in #archaea. These proteins play critical roles in the global nitrogen and carbon cycles. nature.com/articles/s4139… #science #sciencetwitter #AcademicTwitter #Microbiology

In this paper out today, we (Hanna Poffenbarger,@tacobanet,Brian Crinnion and Dave) saw that high C:N formed new MAOM more efficiently than low C:N litter, which was enhanced by living plants but at the cost of losing some pre-existing MAOM-C. authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S00…

📢New postdoc opportunity on an exciting project linking soil health to cropping system performance. Consider applying to work with our dynamic team - Laila Puntel mike castellano Lucas Canisares and Ken Cassman.

Our new review shows that breeding for yield has altered carbon inputs to the soil, with different effects depending on the crop. mike castellano Virginia Moore Angelica Jaconi and Dennis Egli acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cs…

Anyone has access to Nature ecology & evolution? could you please send the paper to my email [email protected] nature.com/articles/s4155…

My good friend, Björn van Loon has been running blindfolded for the past 12 hrs. He is breaking the World Record longest distance blind-running to raise money for Bartimeus Fonds to improve diagnosing of babies and young children with vision impairment. 12 more hrs to go 🏃

It was a great pleasure to participate in the Water for Food Global Conference and receive this award! The work I presented was about the decomposition of cover crops and N release in Eastern Nebraska. Thanks Lucas Canisares and Dr. Andrea Basche for all the support. #PSA #CE1
