DSE retreat at Badia Prataglia: more brainstorming and debates, fewer spreadsheets and data! A couple of weeks ago, we came together to identify the main challenges we want to tackle in the coming years. Collaboration was in full swingβ€”even w/o laptops! #Econtwitter #DeptRetreat

I had the opportunity to work with Francesca in recent months, unfortunately for too short a time! She was a brilliant econometrician. What I appreciated most about her was her human side, her modesty traits typical of strong individuals. A heavy, heavy loss.

Attending conferences around Europe with this guy remains a blast, despite the passing of years: free lounge access as a guest at the airports... and then lots of Econometrics! Thank you Giuseppe Cavaliere πŸ™πŸ™πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜†

Last day of class, Structural Macroenometrics course, Master Program in Economics and Econometrics, DSE UniBo Economics. It seems that my students are not (apparently) intimidated by the rank of the Jacobian!πŸ˜†πŸ˜ƒ Thank you for your patience and professionalism πŸ™πŸ™

Our first take on testing instrument exogeneity, just presented (online) at the CFE 2024, London. Joint work with Giovanni Angelini and Giuseppe Cavaliere Yes, we are also thinking to extend to LP-IVs! All we need is time (and maybe another life πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜†)

In economics, editors, referees, and authors often behave as if a published paper should reflect some kind of authoritative consensus. So valuable debate happens in secret, and the resulting paper is an opaque compromise with anonymous co-authors called referees.

Italy, land of artists, saints, etc... You enter a church and can find unimaginable masterpieces. This is the Malatesta Temple in Rimini, featuring Giotto's crucifix (1301-1302) and frescoes by Piero della Francesca (1451). Free for everyone... you just have to know it!

We seem to be living in troubling and very uncetain times. But when my students submit a paper with this title for the Structural Macroeconometrics exam... I see a glimmer of hope shining. Time series econometrics will save the world! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜¬πŸ˜¬

This is my last post in this space. I thank those who have followed me. I will continue to provide updates on my work and activities elsewhere, as long as possible. I've missed the little blue bird from the very beginning. Ciao a tutti ... chi sa un giorno!
