Today we celebrated Samantha as she wrapped up her CPEP fellowship. I couldn't have asked for a better senior fellow to guide me through my 1st year and I am so grateful for the short time we had together! Although, we did wait until her last day to take our 1st pic together..๐Ÿ˜‚

Patient presents w/ shortness of breath, cough, and night sweats. Prev undiagnosed HIV (viral load >500k) -AFB culture shows organisms with "bird's nest" morphology -Preferentially grows @ 40-45C -TB-like presentation & disease -Assoc. w/ hot water systems =Mycobacterium xenopi

It's my last day of CPEP at UNC! I cannot believe how quickly the past two years have gone by. A huge thank you to Dr. Miller, Dr. Alby, the micro lab, and my co-fellows for making this such an incredible experience. A special shout out to my wife for putting up with this ๐Ÿ˜‚
