Disturbing sea turtles is a crime. Sea turtle season runs from April 1 - October 31 each year. The Marine Turtle Protection Act, Section 379.2431 of the State of Florida statutes makes it illegal to handle or disturb a sea turtle, its hatchlings, nest or eggs.
