Michael Jackson died on this day 15 years ago, I was an instructor at Consolidated Baptist Church's Summer Camp. I remember sitting in the lobby waiting for parents to show up when he passed away.

I was a fresh brand new DJ with alot of ambition, and a weekly "residency" at DeVassa. It was a Thursday, i know that because me and my brother Tarik started this night called Vineyard Thursday's where we sold $10 bottls of wine.

This is before I even owned my equipment, I was playing on the CDJ's in DeVassa.

That afternoon, I created a crate of music to commemorate MJ, and i got prepared to go in and rock the house. I killed it that night. Brock Ward can attest, I jumped off the porch and was putting numbers on the board.

This i consider to be my DJ Anniversary, i debuted my stage name DJ Always and made an impression on the Lexington nightlife scene that lasts til this day.

I've been an official DJ for 15 years today. I consider this my anniversary.

I ain't ever wanted to be THE BEST DJ.

For me as a DJ it's MUSIC FIRST, everything else comes second.

To all the DJ's I've collaborated with, the promoters I worked for, the married couples that I helped to make memories with, the family functions that i've been a part of, Thank YOU for trusting me with the soundtrack for your life!

I'll be an OLD MAN, still putting music together, because I LOVE it!

Here's to another 15 years, and beyond.
