Pump It Up! Pumping between phases with a pulsed-fuel molecular ratchet in Nature Nanotechnology today! nature.com/articles/s4156…
Pleased to share our single-bond rotary motor out today in nature . A doubly-kinetically gated chemically driven information ratchet. Thanks to Ben Roberts 🇪🇺 Platinum and Dave Leigh. See the paper here: nature.com/articles/s4158…
I am delighted to share the first autonomous chemically-fuelled molecular motor which rotates around a single bond published in nature today with Dave Leigh Stefan Borsley Platinum nature.com/articles/s4158…
Lorna Binks puts as many rings as the referees want on it! Aided by legends Chong Tian & Stephen Fielden😃 Out now in J. Am. Chem. Soc.
Another one! Amazing work about Molecular pumping. Congratulations to Lorna Binks, Chong Tian and Stephen Fielden

Excited to see this work out in J. Am. Chem. Soc. - low symmetry knots by social self-sorting! 🪢 With the dream team of Fredrik Schaufelberger Platinum @OliviaMKnapp and Lucian in Dave Leigh lab! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
Thanks Chemistry World for the highlight!
Excited to share our latest paper out now in J. Am. Chem. Soc.! We (Stefan Borsley, Dave Leigh and I) tune the properties of an information ratchet by changing the fuel and additive we use to drive it. Thanks to Iñigo for solving the crystal structure. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
Initially a cobbled together idea for publishing a crystal of our machine, this evolved into a really interesting project. We investigate how structural changes affect reaction rate and kinetic asymmetry, and thus performance of a machine. Top kinetics from Ben Roberts 🇪🇺 !
Out now in J. Am. Chem. Soc.: Martin Power & David Morris's simple rotaxane alternatives to phosphazene superbases! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
Advances in synthesis & analysis enable old claims to be reexamined with new tools🔎🕵️ In J. Am. Chem. Soc., Andrei Baluna @AlbanoGalan @JustinTJSpence et al retrace footprints in the sands of history in search of the 1st catenane: was it molecule or merely myth? pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
Our group, past & present, are delighted to be recognised with the 2023 Horizon #RSCPrize for Physical Organic Chemistry with the great Dean Astumian, OFS☮️🇺🇦✝️ & @EPenocchio & co for molecular ratcheting; the process that gives chemistry direction!😃 tinyurl.com/37w9s7f9
Great to see one of my PhD chapters out now in Chem really enjoyed working on this project and has nicely coincided with me finishing my PhD 😃🥳 thanks to Ben Roberts 🇪🇺 Stefan Borsley @EPenocchio Dave Leigh and Todd Gingrich!
Delighted to be joining Durham Chemistry next month as a The Royal Society University Research Fellow to investigate nonequilibrium compartmentalised systems! Grateful for the opportunity and excited to get my research off the ground.
