Nadhim Zahawi’s SLAPP has now resulted in disciplinary action for his lawyer. A thread on why it happened, and what it means - for the lawyer, for SLAPPS, and for Zahawi himself.

Please make sure you look after freelance staff. Check on their mental health - and make sure they feel valued for contribution and opinion. Freelancers hold the industry together and that should not be forgotten

Investigative journalism, Zach Seward says, "is actually the area where I see the most immediate and powerful applications of AI in journalism". Encouraging to see an emphasis on leveraging tech for some of the most important (and difficult+time-consuming) news work #ReutersMOMENTUM

Huge congrats The Bureau of Investigative Journalism for successfully fighting off this case. The article in question is still online, but its taken 2 years, vasts amounts of ££, time + other resources, all of which could have gone on more excellent investigative reporting. The #UK needs an Anti-#SLAPP Law ASAP.
