The theme for learning this term is “My place in my community”. This afternoon, P65 did a beach clean to support their local community and also enjoyed finding some critters in the rock pools!

We have such amazing access to nature on our doorstep in Lochnell that we want to really improve how we use it better for learning. Yesterday, Mia from Scottish Association for Marine Science ran a workshop for P5 & P6 about Marine Protected Areas. Our learners will be working on a project with a partner that they will present at a community event with other schools in March!

Yesterday, we had a Dr Bike session today at Lochnell as part of our Bikeability week. We also had a parent consultation with AdventureOban about active travel routes to school.

A huge thank you to the community council, Ben Lora cafe and The Pink Shop for helping us to raise an incredible £1072 towards our P7 residential trip at the Benderloch Tractor Parade and Festive Light Switch on.

A huge well done to our learners with the help of our fantastic Mrs McCrindle for creating the brilliant ‘Mad Hatter’s Tree Party’ tree which won the St Conan’s Kirk Christmas tree festival, inspired by the Alice in Wonderland production that we are putting on in January.

On Friday morning, Santa came to Lochnell accompanied by some of our treemendous parents to spread some festive cheer (and sweets). A quote from one of our P6s learners “I feel so sorry for the adults that have to look after us now!”
