This won’t be popular with some but I see it every year at KS4 with GCSE outcomes. The kids who have 95/96% plus attendance get the highest outcomes. It’s a no brainer…. Those who routinely attend school tend to do well in their exams.

Much is said re kids being taught employment skills. Most employers I speak to want staff who are resilient, respectful, work hard, are punctual. The more we create excuses for kids to avoid school or give up because something is hard or they don’t like it the more we fail them.
