Has anyone developed a technique for preventing contamination of the intraperitoneal portion of a VP shunt during semi-elective bowel resection? I know nothing is perfect, but I am thinking of a blue towel/ioban sandwich...and want to know if anyone has devised something better?

Heya Everyone! I am running a survey looking at the overall representation of #LGBTQIA + #residents in #generalsurgery. There is a simple, completely anonymous survey you can fill out below, that should only take 5-10 minutes. If interested, follow the QR code below. Thanks!

When trauma surgeons from WashU Medicine Department of Surgery head to Tucson for the EAST conference, you know it’s serious—except when it’s not. Trading the OR for the desert sun. #ScalpelsAndSaguaro #EAST2025 #WashUTakesTucson WashU Medicine SHIELD

#TipsForNewDocs If you are placed on a really difficult rotation to start--like I was in the #PICU--it doesn't mean someone is trying to punish you. IT MEANS THEY BELIEVE IN YOU.
