So Preston could have one fewer car park if the Fishergate Centre owners go ahead with this scheme for an office quarter, building first on the car park and then maybe eventually ‘remodelling’ the shopping centre. Plans submitted as part of a screening option

Another Home Bargains to open in Preston. This time on Blackpool Road at the old PC World, over the bridge from Deepdale Retail Park

Don’t pour good money after bad. Use it to explore options for a fit for purpose, fit for the future venue. Perhaps on the site of the old Tokyo Jo’s - even use Deepdale for more ambitious gigs.

There’s a ‘consultation’ about this - not that Lancashire County Council will listen. Replacing roundabouts with four way crossroads won’t help. But dualling the A582 from Kingsfold to Lostock Hall and a new River Ribble crossing would make a huge difference.

Is B&M on Ringway the most run down looking store in Preston/Lancashire? Flaking paint, weeds, rust, dirty signs, rubbish in the car park. The building and whole site is a mess. It’s a busy location and sends the wrong message. B&M Stores Blog Preston Preston City Centre BID Preston City Council

Don’t pour more good money into bad concrete. Preston needs a modern mini arena, fit for purpose… like the arena in Leeds. Centrally located feeds into the night time economy. Perhaps on the site of Tokyo Jo’s? @preston council Matthew Brown work with private sector

I do think Preston Docks is such an underused/forgotten about asset for Preston. Needs a new strategy. Can it feel more connected to the city centre? Can it be more than just mini retail parks? New arena location? Blog Preston

Hey Preston City Council Radio 2 in Moor Park has been brilliant exposure for the city. Moor Park is an excellent venue. Need more events like this. Matthew Brown - if not, that new Preston Arena.

Great piece. Getting Guild Hall or Charter Theatre open in critical. Then long term plans for a Preston Arena. Often wondered in the short term could a warehouse be converted to a venue? Temporary seating and a stage area, mobile catering.

Preston should have a Minnie the Minx or Bash Street Kids statue, like the Wallace and Gromit one to celebrate Leo Baxendale. Or a Bash Street Kids trail through the city. Preston City Centre BID Visit Preston Preston Markets
