Major trans news. I warned, repeatedly, that drag bans would be applied to trans speakers. A trans public speaker was just banned from delivering a reading and speech in the Butte Public Library on LGBTQ history in Montana. They cited the drag ban.

Really sad about the layoffs today at Spotify. A lot of these people have been at Gimlet since the very beginning. They’ve helped us with edits over the years. They were friends of ours. They’re the most talented people in audio, and we were lucky to work with them.

I’ve been so lucky to work among the best in the business these last 3 years at Gimlet and it’s devastating how many of my talented, creative & smart colleagues lost their jobs today. There are so many people I can recommend if you’re looking for producers or engineers. 💔

I moved myself in a jam packed minivan to NYC from Chicago in 2016, leaving a full time job, to work for Gimlet Media because I was a fan of Mystery Show and Reply All and StartUp and believed in what they were doing.

Oregon Republicans walked out to stop HB2002, an abortion/trans protection bill. It appears they got concessions on abortion. I'd be mad if they removed trans care to save abortion. I'm mad here too. Abortion and trans care are 2 sides of the same coin: body autonomy for all.
