I did not read as much as usual this year BUT since my daughter was born on Labor Day I’ve listened to 19 audiobooks while feeding her in the wee hours, for a total of 148 listening hours racked up exclusively from 12am to 6am, a real milestone in sleep deprivation!

I genuinely don’t understand how some of y’all parented while working from home in 2020, I am easing back from mat leave with very very (very) part time work and it is nearly breaking me to try and do both even just a few hours a week

a corollary is that it is immensely tacky to immediately post in a 6k person industry group “heard X got laid off, anybody else?” as if this were casual gossip fodder and not people’s actual livelihoods

I think musicals should also have halftime shows and they should be ANOTHER tiny musical

Nothing feels more insane than earnestly describing my kid's interests to get added to years-long preschool waitlists when she's still an infant. She likes to stare at sconces and eat her feet, idk! She just discovered sitting, we haven't progressed to hobbies yet!
