The EU keeps delivering - EU Ambassadors just reached an agreement on a new sanctions package against Russia, including new shadow fleet listings. But the work must immediately continue. We need to target the Russian war machine where it hurts the most – in energy exports.

When we put our minds and political will to it, there is nothing we cannot do – Europe and North America together. Our adversaries should remember that there is no greater power than democracies coming together. When we are attacked, our response is fierce.

What this underlines is that Russia targets civilians and civilian infrastructure with complete disregard to nuclear safety. Let’s call things as they are - these are not anonymous “risks” but a deliberate strategy of Moscow.

A historic achievement for Euro-Atlantic security that brings new opportunities for the American energy sector: the Baltic states have cut energy ties to Russia. Congratulations to Estonia 🇪🇪, Latvia 🇱🇻, and Lithuania 🇱🇹 on synchronizing with the European electricity grid.

Estonia will increase its defence spending to at least 5% of our GDP from next year. Our aim is clear - to make any aggression against us unfeasible. Russia has not changed its goals and imperialistic ambitions. This is a real threat to both Europe and NATO.
