The burden of proof on an innocent but convicted person to overturn their conviction is enormous - far beyond that required to convict them. Most will never clear their name and remain guilty in the eyes of the law (and public) for the rest of their lives.

If an innocent person IS exonerated, they more than likely will not receive any compensation for their ordeal. Even if they do, their lives are often irreparably damaged, and they themselves are changed forever.

I got the good news last week that my application for promotion was successful, so as of 1st August I will be Associate Professor! 🎉
