Our Jhalak C&YA 2022 winner:

Thank you to the fantastic New Beacon Books for hosting visits from our Jhalak Prize judges this term! They loved learning more about people addressing issues in the publishing world and being able to buy a wonderful variety of books

Students 11-16yo are at high risk of suffering Post-Wimpy Kid Syndrome (PWKS). Symptoms include reluctance to read anything other than 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' and low mood after finishing the Wimpy Kid books. Fortunately BooksForTopics have a great poster of suggestions!

We are delighted to announce that journalist Reni Eddo-Lodge will be visiting the school on Friday afternoon to engage in conversation with a select group of students. Year 10s should check their email for booking form - first come, first served!

This year HHS students have read 14,231 texts averaging 12 loans per student! Heartstopper by Alice Oseman Updates is our No1 borrowed title! Students have access to the online Ereader titles all summer and can loan phyiscal texts for over the break & of course visit Haringey Libraries

Now the goal is to see if we can hit 15,000 total loans by the end of the year with our summer reading loans!

It's been a great year in the Heartlands library!

Welcome back to school! It's great to see so many Year 7s bursting into the library, excited to borrow before they've even had their first library lesson!

We have newspapers and books available for students in the library who want to learn more about the passing of #QueenElizabeth and what will happen next. Many have chosen to take newspapers home as souvenirs of living through this historic moment

The recent article on Tice Cin in Haringey Community Press has given us a great opportunity for a library display!
