I had no insight into the process, but a few days ago, I told several of my colleagues that Roxy Ekberg would be the executive editor of the DI someday. My prediction was next year, so she even surpassed that expectation. Great move for Iowa's reigning top paper.

I couldn’t imagine a better pick than Roxy Ekberg to run the Daily Iowan next year. It’s been amazing to see her growth over the last two years from a news reporter always over word count to my partner in crime covering the crazy world of Iowa politics, congrats!
