Just home after my first full day in HM Treasury for a decade. Thank you to the civil servants in HMT & HMRC for making it a great first day. There's lots to do, and I'm looking forward to getting to it!

14 months of delays. All because a sign was 2 millimetres too small. This is how Britain ends up with a deepening housing crisis, families stuck in overcrowded homes, and billions lost to the economy. If we’re going to reverse decline and rebuild Britain this cannot continue.
