CES welcomed back keynote speaker Sam Demma, author of Empty your Backpack. Sam spoke to our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders about being kind and setting goals. He shared that by emptying our backpacks of negative energy and filling them with positive actions we can achieve our goals.

International Day of Education is celebrated globally on January 24 to celebrate the role of education for peace and development. I applaud all our dedicated teachers and look forward to meeting our daily challenges with collaboration and a smile on our face!

Our January I Ready challenge winners were able to each get a free book from our book vending machine today purchased by our PBS committee. These students were recognized for having the most I ready lessons passed per grade level in the either math or reading.

Love was in the air at CES today. Our Sunshine Club sponsored a Valentines Day cookie/cake exchange. Sweet treats for sweet staff!

CES hosted this morning's New Teacher Academy Session. We discussed Restorative Practices and Restorative Circles and how powerful they can be in building positive communities and relationships. We ended our time together with our own restorative circle.

Mrs Blissett's third grade students celebrating Black History Month with beautiful portraits of famous Black Americans. Nice job third graders!

We welcomed some pretty special people to CES this week to read to our students during our Read Across America Celebration! Thanks Mr. Rivera and Dr. Loughran for spending time with us!

Today, CES was excited to welcome the FHS Ultimate Warriors! These incredible athletes inspired our students by reading books and sharing their love of sports!

Our K-5 ELA staff participated in our Content Meeting this week. We discussed the importance of the K-5 connection, how to embed test prep naturally, how to strengthen vertical articulation, applying best practices and collaborating across grade levels.

Our first Parenting Partners workshop was a huge success! We can't wait for Tuesday so we can do it again! Parents and Staff...Perfect Together!

CES welcomed Officer Reid and Officer Belvin, our PACER Officers, back to our campus today. We love when they come to read with us!
