On May 18, 1980, Lee County lost a great man, Sheriff James C. Pearson. Sheriff Pearson served as Lee County Sheriff from July 23, 1970, until his passing in 1980. He was a great man, and a dedicated public servant who we will never forget.

248 years ago today, the Second Continental Congress passed the “Flag Resolution” that specified the United States flag be made up of 13 stripes alternating red & white along with 13 stars on a field of blue. As new states have been added, a new star has been added for each one.
