Unpopular opinion: 'build connections/network' are damaging terms for med students. Med students shouldn't have to graft to please people who believe they're 'above' others. It constructs the damaging favouritism & hierarchies- in what's meant to be a TEAM effort. #MedTwitter

We don’t become the best doctors we can be by applying for competitive roles and trying to be better than everyone else. We become the best doctors we can be by caring for each other, being on a level playing field, and genuinely wanting to raise each other up. #MedTwitter

Exams, projects, and deadlines will come and go. But you’re only a medical student once. So live your life to the fullest and savour every opportunity to have fun, spend time with people you love, and make the most of every opportunity to care for yourself. #MedTwitter #Medicine

People need to start recognising that a long list of publications and positions does not always equal commitment and dedication. It should raise the question- among everything on the list, was there anything truly important to this individual? #MedTwitter #MedStudentTwitter

As we head into a new academic year, know that if you feel like you’re not ready, or if you are struggling with something- you are not alone. Never suffer in silence, and let someone know. It might seem scary but it’ll be helpful for you in the long run ❤️ #MedEd #MedTwitter

How sick would it be if we had to sign doctors off on their portolios for actually teaching us, rather than them signing us off for showing them we can do the most basic things that any human could do lol (Handwashing?? 5 years into med school?? Seriously?) #MedTwitter

Some doctors and nurses will literally stand around ignoring you and treating you like you’re invisible all day, but still have the cheek to point out every single thing you’re doing wrong in front of everyone else? Sorry hun would you say that to your consultant? I think not

The ultimate paradox in medical school is being told to be empathetic to our patients, but also being told not to be emotionally affected by our patients. How can these be mutually exclusive?? #MedTwitter #MedEd

Just been to a talk on GMC referrals by a representative from The MDU who apparently has never heard of the ‘Fair to refer’ document and has ‘no opinion’ on the fact that certain people are more likely to be referred to the GMC than others. Disappointed, but not surprised :)

I asked healthcare students on my Instagram story how motivated they are to complete their degree - 76% said they were either very or somewhat unmotivated. Please be kind to the students on placements with you - we’re struggling!

The GMC teaches us not to undermine the profession in the eyes of the public but then makes random decisions like this lol, it's like watching a sitcom lmao #MedTwitter #MedStudentTwitter
