Liverpool Licensing Officers working with colleagues from Merseyside Police recently conducted roadside inspections of licensed vehicles near Liverpool Airport. 13 defect notices were issued, as well as one vehicle licence being suspended for an illegal tyre.

Liverpool Licensing Officers recently took part in a joint operation with Merseyside Police and Tunnels Police. Licensed vehicles were inspected to ensure compliance along with checks by Merseyside Police in relation to drink and drug driving and vehicle safety.

The Liverpool Council Hackney Carriage Tariff is due to increase Monday 31 March 2025. Gt Homer St Market will be open between 9am and 5pm on Mon 31/3 Tues 1/4 and Monday 7/4 for Taxis to have their meter updated. The meter will be resealed, and a new tariff sheet issued.

A Liverpool PHV driver was convicted in Liverpool Magistrates Court this week for refusing to take an assistance dog and will have to pay fines and costs totalling £318. It is an offence under the Equality Act 2010 for a licensed driver to refuse transport to an assistance dog.
