TSUNAMI WARNING is in effect in coastal regions that include Emeryville and affect Lab Buildings 978 and 977. If you are in the area, evacuate inland, otherwise AVOID THE AREA until further notice. Updates will be posted to status.lbl.gov as we receive more information.

The Tsunami Warning has been lifted for coastal California. People who evacuated Berkeley Lab Buildings 978 and 977, and the surrounding area, are free to return to their workplaces.

🚧 Blackberry Gate Closure Alert 🚧 Berkeley Lab's Blackberry Gate will be closed on eight Saturdays from 6a – 6p starting Feb. 15 for wildfire mitigation, including removing hazardous trees. Please use Grizzly Gate for Lab access on those days. status.lbl.gov

Loss of electrical utility power at Berkeley Lab’s main site. Facilities teams are investigating the cause of the outage. status.lbl.gov Several buildings are without power or on emergency backup power. The buildings that reported power loss include: 62 67 72 84 50 74

All buildings on Berkeley Lab’s hill site are either on regular or emergency power and may be entered to check critical research systems. Grizzly Gate is the only ingress point until 6p when site access is shifted back to Blackberry Gate. Details: status.lbl.gov

All Berkeley Lab buildings on the hill site are now ready for occupancy after a failed electrical arrester caused one of the Lab’s two transmission lines to lose power leading to intermittent power outages across the site on Saturday. Details: status.lbl.gov

Systemwide BART Shutdown, Seek Alternative Transportation: As of 8a PT, BART reports service remains suspended system-wide until further notice due to a computer networking problem. AC Transit and SFMTA are providing mutual aid. Check bart.gov for updates.

A Tsunami Watch has been issued for the California coast. People along the coast should stay alert for further updates.
