Concrete pours for our approach spans involved crews deployed in different areas to place, smooth, and texturize the concrete at the same time, and they require that workers constantly keep things moving. #TBT

The #GDBRPCrew has begun assembling the Mark Bixby Memorial Bicycle Pedestrian Path along the south side of the main span. Support beams for the path were installed months ago. Now, the steel platforms that will create the “shelf” for the 12-foot-wide trail are being installed.

Reaching as high as 205 feet in the air at its apex, the future Mark Bixby Memorial Bicycle Pedestrian Path will offer spectacular views of Long Beach, the port complex, oceanfront, and Catalina Island. The path will offer three observation areas along the main span.
