This afternoon, the United to House LA (ULA) permanent program guidelines and FY24/25 Expenditure Plan were unanimously passed by the LA City Council! 🧵

Just want to point out that all those who voted for more housing yesterday are considered the MORE progressive people on the body. A third of the LA City Council, a historically anti-housing body, supported more housing across LA, led by progressives. Feels like a big deal!

The Eaton Fire is tearing through Altadena this morning.

This is what’s left of the Pacific Palisades. The mall survived. Most everything else is gone. Homes, apartment complexes… businesses.

Metro continues to operate. However, given the extraordinary demands on the power grid and sporadic outages, it is difficult for many to buy and load their TAP cards. I have authorized Metro to suspend fare collection systemwide for the rest of the day.
