I’m genuinely curious what some system guys are now running for their stops on big gaps 60%+? At that point your R/R is so shit you gotta be risking 5%+ of account per trade assuming decent size account to make anything especially since Aprils insane SC market seems the new norm.

Its scalp or die in SCs now. Forget about building into it. You got to be in/out in/out or your just bleeding money now. I'm not sure what's changed. But SCs have changed. No way you can argue that.

So in order to broaden the sample size, I reran the backtest to include gappers 35%+ and the results are even more interesting. 2025 clearly represents a fundamental shift in gapper dynamics. Funds/riggers are weaponizing big gaps in a way we just haven't seen in years past.

I haven't seen any data on this, but it looks like tickers are so often now making their moves in pre market and then getting completely whacked well before market opens. As a West Coast trader, do I need to start setting my alarm for 3am now? Why even have market hours anymore?
