Heartbreaking item on Today with Claire Byrne right now. Whatever one’s feelings on immigration, what kind of person protests outside a school and frightens little children?

I think one of the most underrated traits in a journalist or commenter trying to calls balls and strikes is to not be afraid of blowback. You have to know you are going to get attacked by partisans -- especially on the socials -- for offering a piece of analysis and do it

Absolutely horrendous. Way too many guns and way too much toxicity. A very sad reflection on America today. US Democratic politician and her husband shot dead in Minneapolis jrnl.ie/6733261

There are a bunch of teams who could win this year. Armagh is one. Galway is another. Both with an outside chance. But not one of the strong teams is perfect. It all depends on the day. Gonna be interesting.

πŸ’― to this piece. Literally every 20something person I speak to tells me that pub drinking isn’t big and alcohol consumption is down, but drug use (cocaine and pills) is absolutely rampant. Two reasons typically identified: 1) price of drink, 2) priority on physical fitness.

Authentic Catholicism has no allegiance to 'the' right or left (to the extent those categories mean anything at all) and so ACB's confounding place here is totally unsurprising.

For those here following the #KarenRead saga, she has just been found Not Guilty of second degree murder and Not Guilty of manslaughter. Guilty of driving under the influence. Gonna be a massive Netflix series if you haven’t heard of it yet. Another β€œonly in Boston” true story.
