Mounted Platoon joined Santa and his elves this morning Christmas eve to give smiles and gifts to our community's children at LA Children's Hospital.

After eight year of dedicated service to the LAPD Mounted Platoon, horse Baja has been retired and sent to pasture. He will be hanging with buddy Oakley, and three additional horses, to roam hundreds of acres. BAJA, thank you for your service and you are EOW.

With recent retirements of Bo and Baja, the mounted training team were on a long search for replacements. Welcome Chava (5 YO) and Billy (10 YO). They have recently passed all certification and are field deployed. AZ to LA.

Horses know its dinner time and want everyone to know it's time to eat.

The mounted platoon was called upon to address a growing homeless problem in the Balboa Wetlands. The horses loved the change in venue.

After a long night ride at Staples the horses were ready for refueling. DASH preferred the premium

Even our community members help out in cleaning the stalls.

Mounted Platoon worked the hillside trails enforcing trail closures City wide. They made over 100 contacts this weekend in restricted areas. As a reminder, all public trails are closed until further notice. Be safe.

The mounted platoon will be out this weekend on the beaches and trails to support the Mayor"s directive to stay home/ stay safe. All LA County and City Beaches and trails remain closed.
