CHP was encouraged by the City's leaders, media and affluent-area residents to police East Oakland as if they were a military occupation. And that's exactly what this sounds like to me, the way the IDF treat West Bank Palestinians.

Its writ small example, but watching a CHP cruiser cut a roundabout onto my block in East Oakland and nearly hit me was a master's thesis in how these officers view us. Because city leaders, media, hills-dwellers and their dishonest surrogates told them we aren't important.
