Math 8/9: I shared graphs from Jonathan Haidt book “The Anxious Generation” to simultaneously teach Ss about data & graphing and mental health. Math 8/9: Kicked off the year with a growth mindset lesson. Read “The Most Magnificent Thing” by Ashley Spires & created edible neurons inspired by BegBorrowAndTeach!. WAM 10: Interesting conversation as we debriefed Let’s Make Squares puzzle from Sarah Carter. Talked about the difference between cheating and learning from others, trial and error and how to navigate frustration as we experience productive struggle. Math 8/9: Ss tackled "Cycling Squares" from NRICH maths Ss place the numbers so that any 2 numbers adjacent to one another equal a perfect square. Great for all teams because teams could make it more or less challenging based on how many numbers they included. Prairie Valley School Division
